I wish I knew who was responsible for the pop-up ads at Boston.com.

I'd like to tell them how I feel about these endless, mid-90s style annoyances. Here's a gem from today:

The filename is "devastated_v2.gif." Classy way to keep that ad revenue up.

Check out Boston Band Crush's review of INFRASTRUCTURE's first single, "Old World."

My favorite line:
The guitars run wildly all over the place like someone set the difficulty on "Rock Band" to "Insane-Expert-Genius-Death-Mode."

INFRASTRUCTURE AT JOHNNY D'S -- NEXT FRIDAY!

No Way to Run a Railroad

It is indisputable fact that the Acela spends nearly as much time standing still as it does moving forward. Today, on my fifth consecutive delayed trip, the train crawled around bridge repairs in Connecticut, sped through Rhode Island, then got stuck behind a disabled Amtrak train at Forest Hills station in Jamaica Plain.

Here the train has sat for half an hour. Two functioning commuter trains have been dispatched past our High Speed equipment, and nearly a half dozen Orange Line subway trains have passed us on the adjacent tracks.

We are scheduled to move forward again in five minutes, at which point we will be 45 minutes late.

UrBeach: The Boston Urban Beach Adventure

Nice weather or not, Dan and I visit Revere Beach every spring to kick off our Manic American travel season. This year, we decided to out-manic ourselves: we would hit Revere Beach, Castle Island (Boston), and Wollaston Beach (Quincy) in one day. We would use only the MBTA and our feet to get from place to place. And we would eat. A lot.

All told, we walked over twelve miles and utilized every MBTA rail line. We talked to a lot of strange people and ate a lot of good food: fried clams in Revere, mini-hot dogs at Castle Island, and delicious lobster rolls at Wollaston Beach.

Here is a link to the photos

And here is a dead Christmas tree at Revere Beach, which I will accept as proof that summer is on its way...

INFRA-update.

Infrastructure is now booked at the Boston House of Blues Front Room, June 30th. Next shows are 5/21 @ Johnny D's in Somerville and 6/17 @ The Bowery Electric in Manhattan.

Our DC date is canceled, and we are trying to reschedule. The promoter spontaneously changed the terms for the show so that we (INFRA) were responsible for booking all bands playing at his venue. This basically means that the promoter wanted us to do his job for him, plus he wanted to skim 20% off the total ticket sales for doing nothing. When I called bullshit, he claimed that he had double booked the venue and that we could go to hell. We have dozens of people who have been asking us to play DC; sadly, those fans will have to wait until we can establish a relationship with a reputable promoter. This will take time as we are focused on perfecting our show, finishing new material, and playing everywhere we can in Boston and New York.

On another note, the promoter who booked us in Philly has not responded to our last four attempts at contact and we suspect that that date will fall through as well.
